Indian actor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is well-known for his roles in Hindi films. Several honours have been bestowed upon him, including four Filmfare Awards. In 2013, the French government granted him the title of Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his services to cinema.
As a director, he is most known for the contentious and critically acclaimed Hindi picture Black Friday (2004), which tells the story of the 1993 Mumbai bombings. Other notable films include No Smoking (2007), Dev D (2009), Gulaal (2009), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2011), and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
